“I think it’s important for us to win tournament like this. It’s very important because it cannot be called a preseason tournament to us. It’s a trophy like any other and we are going with the objective of winning”, Coach Tapha told LISCR FC media.
The boss will be without the services of Sam Kollie, Trokon Myers and Prince Saydee. The trio are currently on the sideline due to injuries which they are being given time to fully recover.
Meanwhile, Coach Tapha has warned players that played in the just ended WAFU U20 which Liberia lost to the Gambia in the final. The gaffer told LISCR FC media that the likes of Allen Njie, Sheku Sheriff, Edward Ledlum, Benjamin Doe, Asiamuh Dann and Ashley Williams will have no part to play in the tournament if they don’t report to training sessions.
LISCR FC has already won two preseason tournaments. The Shipping Boys won the 2017 LISCR Trust Tournament and the 2017-18 Liberia Diaspora Tournament before their CAF Champions League preliminary round qualifiers against Al-Hilal of Sudan.
