LISCR FC has swept the Liberia Football Association 2017-18 First Division League awards after winning four of the five individual awards.
Head coach, Tapha Manneh was named the coach of the season after leading the club to double titles. In his first year, the Gambian boss guided the club to an undefeated league title and the FA Cup title. From 29 games in all competition, Coach Tapha led the boys to 14 wins, 14 draws and conceded a single defeat which was in the FA semifinals first leg against Keitrace FC. He became the first coach to win the Liberian league unbeaten and the first coach in LISCR FC history to win a double.
Veteran defender, Emmanuel Tarpeh won the defender of the year award. Tarpeh brilliant display in defense help the Shipping Boys finished the season unbeaten and winning the FA Cup. Shot stopper, Tommy Songo was named the best goalkeeper of the 2017-18 season after keeping six clean sheets in 19 games. Songo was brilliant in goal for the Shipping Boys after keeping six clean sheets in 19 appearances.
Meanwhile, former LISCR FC winger, Terrence Tisdell was named the league’s most valuable player. Tisdell played for FC Fassell during the league season and was signed ahead of the 2018 season. However, he didn’t make a single appearance for the Shipping Boys and move to Mozambique’s Costa dol Sol on loan. After seven months with Costa do Sol, he moved to Portuguese club, Sanjoanense for an undisclosed fee.
Speaking to LISCR FC media after being named the league’s best defender, Emmanuel Tarpeh expressed his gratitude to his teammates and technical staffs for helping him along the way.
