LISCR Football Club’s centre-defender, Emmanuel Tarpeh has withdrawn from the Lone Star’s training camp due to hamstring injury.
Tarpeh was among the six LISCR FC players invited by the Liberia national team that is currently on training camp for the CAF AFCON 2019 crucial qualifiers against Zimbabwe on November 18. However, he was unable to honor the invitation due to hamstring injury which is been worked on by LISCR FC’s medical team.
The 2016-17 first division league best defender said ended the 2018 Liberia football season with the injury and has decided to rest and work with the doctors to help him return to his fitness.
“I can’t go now [Lone Star Traininng Camp] because I’m feeling little pain in my leg. We had a tough season where we were playing weeks in and out and I had to do evertgin6to help LISCR FC. I’m glad to have been invited but I have to work on my football get fit 100% again. We [LISCR FC] have continental engagement coming up soon and the coach needs all player to be fit and help the club. I really wish I could have attended the Lone Star’s training but my health too must come first”, Tarpeh told LISCR FC media.
According to Tarpeh, he’s communicated with the national team’s technical staffs and they’ve understood he needs to look after his health. “I’ve already talked to the coaches and they understood that my health is important. They have no problem it and they’ve wished me well.”
